Dairyland supports local communities

October is National Co-op Month, which is an occasion to highlight the good cooperatives do every month of the year. 

Dairyland’s Contributions Committee regularly receives and seeks opportunities to support an incredible variety of organizations, groups and individuals in the region. Between volunteerism, shared expertise and donations, Dairyland and its employees continually make local communities stronger. 

DPC launches Vehicle to Grid research project

Dairyland is launching a first-of-its-kind research project into the capabilities of utilizing an all-electric vehicle for two-way power. 

The Vehicle to Grid project is a forward-looking part of Dairyland’s investigation of Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS) testing an electric vehicle’s ability to feed power back into the grid. Dairyland is currently the only Generation & Transmission Cooperative with a Vehicle to Grid research project underway. 

Dairyland's United Way Pacesetter fundraising honored

Dairyland is a Pacesetter company for the annual United Way fundraising campaign, which is a great opportunity to support the Cooperative Principle, Concern for Community.

The Great Rivers United Way honored Dairyland and three other corporate partners recently in La Crosse. The total contribution from Dairyland to the Great Rivers United Way for this year’s Pacesetter campaign was $97,136.33. Dairyland is proud to be among these local organizations working to make our region stronger. 

Vice President Pence Visits Dairyland

Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia visited Dairyland's La Crosse Service Center on Labor Day to honor the critical service our employees provide for the cooperative membership. President and CEO Brent Ridge, U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson and Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) President & CEO Kurt Bauer also spoke at the official visit, which was attended by Dairyland employees and their family members who wished to participate. 

Congressman Ron Kind Visits Dairyland

Dairyland and our member cooperatives work with local, state and national elected officials in both parties to provide insights with policymakers about key topics impacting co-ops, the energy industry and local communities. 

Congressman Ron Kind (D-La Crosse) met with President and CEO Brent Ridge and Government Relations Manager Jennifer Shilling Sept. 2 at Dairyland. Joining them was Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Association (WECA) CEO Steve Freese, who bestowed the Champion of Electric Cooperative Award to Rep. Kind.
