The employee spotlight series features an employee each month, shining a spotlight on their interests and what it’s like to be a part of the Dairyland team.

Employee Spotlight On: Michele Coady
Supervisor, Technical Support Services

What is your job and what do you like most about it?
I am the Supervisor, Technical Support Services at the Help Desk in the La Crosse office and this is my 15th year working at Dairyland. I love working with the people and variety that our jobs entail. No day is ever quite the same and things are always changing. I also enjoy that I get to work with all the different departments and get a little feel for what role they play in Dairyland to make everything fit together.

What led you to work in this field?
I went to college and switched majors in my third year to Geography/Travel and Tourism with a minor in Microcomputer Studies. For no other reason than who doesn’t like to travel and at the time accounting wasn’t working for me. Fun fact: My dad installed software on my computer when I was in college so maybe he inspired me. Right out of college, I got a temp job at a travel company doing pieces of travel agent work. I applied at their Help Desk when there was an opening, and the rest is history.

Why do you think Dairyland is a great place to work?
Dairyland has been very good to me. I really enjoy building relationships with my coworkers and am proud to work here.

Tell us about life outside of work. How do you spend your time?
My favorite things are my family. Most of my life revolves around activities with my 6-year-old son, Jackson. I also enjoy rummage sales, craft shows, doing crafts, weekends up at the cabin and nice days out on my deck.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
Positive thoughts attract positive energy.

What was the best thing that happened to you this month?
Spending time with family and friends for Easter and having the Easter Bunny stop by for the kids.

What’s on your bucket list?
Going back to Switzerland one day (my grandpa was born there) with my son to visit family and experience their culture.

Favorite local spot?
Walking around any local store, like Savvy or Practically Posh, without any time restrictions either with a friend or by myself.

What food would you not want to live without?
Good chicken fried rice or sushi.

Dream vacation?
I’ve never been a cruise – I think that’s something I’d like to experience in my lifetime.
