Gary Mazo will join Dairyland Power Cooperative as Vice President and Chief Risk Officer on April 13, 2026. Mazo comes to Dairyland with nearly 30 years of utility industry experience in commodity risk management, financial hedging strategy and enterprise governance.
Since 2012, Mazo has served in roles of increasing responsibility at the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), including Vice President-Fuels; Director, Operations Finance; and Director, Portfolio Analytics & Risk Management. Prior to his tenure at TVA, Mazo served as Director, Enterprise Risk Management at Progress Energy, Inc. Mazo began his career in private and public industries with positions in accounting and auditing.
In his role as Chief Risk Officer, Mazo will lead Dairyland’s enterprise risk management program to ensure risks are identified and managed across power supply, transmission, cybersecurity, safety, finance and compliance operations. Additionally, Mazo will guide corporate risk governance in alignment with Dairyland’s Board of Directors.

Mazo holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; and an MBA from Emory University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and earned his Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA).
