Dairyland President & CEO Brent Ridge attended the White House announcement of the Ratepayer Protection Pledge on July 23 in Washington, D.C., along with representatives from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), utilities, elected officials and businesses from across the nation.
The voluntary pledge seeks to prevent ratepayers from bearing the costs of new energy generation and grid upgrades associated with data center infrastructure. The pledge aligns with Dairyland's position ensuring data center expansion does not jeopardize affordability and reliability for its membership – with costs borne by the developer, not by energy consumers.
An overview of the pledge and list of signatories is available here.
