Dairyland Power Cooperative and Vernon Electric Cooperative are proud to announce their contribution to the Vernon Economic Development Association’s (VEDA) Community Hunger Solutions program. This joint contribution underscores their commitment to making a positive impact in the local community and addressing food insecurity.
“We recognize the importance of supporting initiatives that directly benefit the communities we serve,” said Brent Ridge, Dairyland President and CEO. "By joining forces with Vernon Electric Cooperative, we can amplify our impact in addressing food insecurity in the Vernon County area.”
The donation, totaling $2,000, will provide much-needed support to VEDA’s Community Hunger Solutions (CHS) program, which is focused on combating hunger in the Vernon County area. The program is committed to creating sustainable solutions for local food distribution, nutritional education and outreach to vulnerable populations. This donation will help CHS purchase a used van to transport produce.
“As an electric cooperative, we are committed to the well-being of our community,” said Craig Buros, CEO and General Manager at Vernon Electric. “Our collaboration with Dairyland allows us address the critical issue of limited or uncertain access to adequate nutrition and helps to make a substantial impact on the lives of our neighbors in need.”
