Dairyland is thankful for the opportunity to provide reliable power and support to the communities we serve. As part of Dairyland’s mission to improve the quality of life for cooperative members, Dairyland’s Contributions Committee manages an annual budget of charitable funds to be donated throughout the year. The committee meets monthly to review requests and make decisions on whether requests meet Dairyland’s guidelines. Recent support includes:

41st Annual La Crosse Community Thanksgiving Dinner: This event provides an opportunity to bring people together to promote community, awareness and understanding. The dinner celebrates our diverse community as citizens from all walks of life join together for a traditional Thanksgiving meal, activities and entertainment. The event is possible thanks to countless volunteers, organizations, churches and businesses.

Wreaths Across America: On National Wreaths Across America Day each December, volunteers place wreaths on individual veterans’ graves and memorials in over 1,600 locations throughout the U.S. in honor of our American heroes. Dairyland’s $500 donation was matched by President & CEO Brent and Lisa Ridge and EVP/CAO Amanda and Bryan Hoefling for a total of 100 wreaths donated on behalf of Dairyland. These wreaths will be placed at the Soldier’s Walk-Memorial Park in Arcadia, Wis.

Ladysmith Lions Club: The 11th Annual Fun on the Frozen Flambeau event is happening on Feb. 19, 2023, on the Dairyland Reservoir. This is a family event including a fishing contest and a special fishing area for children, with chances to win prizes. The event raises money for the community and supports local food pantries, the Wildlife Restoration Association, community-based projects, events and youth scholarships.

Mississippi Valley Conservancy: As a nonprofit organization, the MVC helps increase the pace, permanence and quality of land conservation and restoration in our area. They are committed to protecting the best our landscape has to offer and ensuring the area’s land and natural resources are healthy and plentiful for generations to come. Currently, this organization has conserved over 23,929 acres.

Contributions support community events, specific projects for charitable organizations or general donations focused in our service territory or areas in which Dairyland employees live. Organizations are mainly non-profits and donations are targeted towards organizations and services that focus on community service, education, environmental stewardship or emergency and community crisis funds.
