Chad Callaway
Right-of-Way Technician II

What is your job and what do you like most about it?
I am a Right-of-Way Technician II and have been with Dairyland Power for 29 years. I work out of the Administration Building in La Crosse. What I like most about my job is that no two days are the same as I split my time between the office and field. I am proud to be part of team that's building infrastructure that will serve the public long after I retire.

What led you to work in this field?
I studied Geography at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and have always had an interest in mapping and surveying.

Why do you think Dairyland is a great place to work?
The people and the many opportunities!

What about life outside work? Tell us about your favorite things.
I enjoy riding motorcycles, mountain biking, snowboarding and spending time on our land near Galesville, Wis.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given? Favorite quote?
“The one who plants trees, knowing that he will never sit in their shade, has at least started to understand the meaning of life.” - Rabindranath Tagore

What motivates you?
My family. The best part of life is being there and providing for your family.

What's on your bucket list?
Someday, I will snowboard the Banff and Lake Louise area of the Canadian Rockies.

What’s your favorite movie?
"The World's Fastest Indian" and "A Beautiful Mind."

Dream Vacation?
To attend the Isle of Man TT motorcycle race.

Where do you volunteer?
I volunteer for the WIARA State Ski and Snowboard Championships and Habitat for Humanity - Neighbors Day.
