Employee Spotlight On
Kayla Lorenz
Safety Coordinator

What is your job and what do you like most about it?
I’ve been the Safety Coordinator for nearly two years, based out of the La Crosse office. Before that, I was an Admin at JPM in Alma starting in November 2021. What I enjoy most about my role is the opportunity to work closely with so many people across the organization.

What led you to work in this field?
Joining the safety team provided a great growth opportunity and new challenges. I’ve been able to develop skills that align with my professional goals and am excited to be contributing to such an important and impactful area of our organization.

Why do you think Dairyland is a great place to work?
The people! From my co-workers, leaders and all our co-op members, this team is second to none. And then of course, the Riverside Café ranch dressing – absolutely delicious!

What about life outside work? Tell us about your favorite things.
Life is busy! I’m the proud mom of two sons who are involved with baseball, basketball, soccer, and wrestling, so there is always something going on. In the rare instance there are no sports, we enjoy being outside either on the river, hiking, skiing or traveling.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given? Favorite quote?
Best advice - always approach your work with a mindset of continuous learning and adaptability. Invest in building strong relationships with your colleagues, as collaboration and trust are key to success in any role. Stay proactive in seeking opportunities for growth, and never hesitate to ask questions or take on challenges outside your comfort zone—they often lead to the most rewarding experiences.

Where's your favorite local spot?
Elmaro or the Township 23 Distillery!

Favorite movies or books?
I flock more to series than movies. My favorites are Virgin River, Night Agent, Younger, Fire Country and recently Ranson Canyon.
