Steven Hintz has been promoted to Dairyland Site Manager, Generation Assets, effective Feb. 5. Hintz joined Dairyland in January 2018 as Plant Control Systems Administrator at the John P. Madgett Station (JPM). He assumed the role as Generating Station Plant Engineer III in 2021 and was promoted to JPM Maintenance Manager in 2022.

In his new role, Hintz will be responsible for the management and operational oversight of Dairyland's Flambeau Hydroelectric Station, Elk Mound Combustion Turbines and RockGen Energy Center, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient performance. He will also support key operational and technical projects.

“Steve’s diverse experience in power plant maintenance and operation, combined with his engineering, project management knowledge and skills, will support the mission of driving high standards in processes and behaviors to meet present and future generating needs of our key stakeholders,” said Dairyland Vice President, Generation Jeremy Browning.

Prior to joining Dairyland, Hintz worked at the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant and served as an Instructor in Industrial Controls at Northwood Technical College in New Richmond, Wis. Hintz began his professional career as a Journeyman Industrial Electrician/Instrumentation technician. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Lakeland University and a master’s degree in Engineering Management from UW-Platteville.
