Congressman Ron Kind (D-La Crosse) met with President and CEO Brent Ridge and Government Relations Manager Jennifer Shilling Sept. 2 at Dairyland. Joining them was Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Association (WECA) CEO Steve Freese, who bestowed the Champion of Electric Cooperative Award to Rep. Kind. 

“Congressman Kind has been a reliable voice in support of Wisconsin’s electric cooperatives for many years. He was a lead author of the SECURE Act, a bipartisan retirement package that was signed into law. The Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement (SECURE), included a provision to allow cooperatives to reduce pension premiums, thus allowing members to save more money for retirement,” said Shilling.
