October is National Co-op Month, which provides an opportunity to focus on the cooperative principles including Education, Training and Information and Concern for Community. Dairyland Power Cooperative owns the Flambeau Hydro Station located near Ladysmith, Wis., a water-powered facility that has operated safely and efficiently for over 65 years. To help ensure that Ladysmith area residents are aware of safety resources regarding the unlikely event of a dam emergency incident, information is posted on Dairyland’s website. Ladysmith area residents are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these resources to see how they could potentially be impacted either by home flooding or road closures in the event of an emergency at the Flambeau Hydro Station.
