Dairyland has donated $2,500 to the Wildlife Restoration Association (WRA) in Rusk County in support of a new amphitheater in Ladysmith (Wis.) Memorial Park. The Ladysmith Lions Club has led the legacy project with assistance from the WRA. The outdoor amphitheater will host concerts, graduations, weddings, plays and other events.

“Supporting communities where we do business is a core value at Dairyland,” said Senior Environmental Biologist Brad Foss (Environmental Affairs). “The beautiful new amphitheater will be used by residents, including Dairyland employees, and visitors. Its high-quality design and construction will make the facility a great benefit to the Ladysmith community.”

Dairyland has owned the 22 MW Flambeau Hydroelectric Station since 1951. The water-powered plant is located on the Flambeau River near Ladysmith. Over the years, Dairyland has worked cooperatively with Rusk County and the WRA on many community and environmental stewardship projects.
