Dairyland Power Cooperative has donated $2,000 to the Buffalo Land Conservation Fund in support of the Rose Valley Improvement Project in the Town of Belvidere, Wis. The township is located in Buffalo County, Wis., near Dairyland’s Alma Site.

The primary conservation goal of the Rose Valley Watershed project is to minimize sedimentation from entering the Rose Valley Pond. The project will benefit citizens and recreational visitors to the area by helping prevent erosion sediment from entering the newly restored pond. Project tasks, which also include dam embankment repairs, stocking of fish and construction of a public fishing pier, are scheduled to be completed in spring 2019.

“Supporting local communities and sustainable stewardship projects is an important part of what Dairyland does as a cooperative,” said Leif Tolokken, Dairyland Manager, Water & Waste Programs. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to assist with a project that will yield positive results for the environment and area residents.”
