Dairyland has donated $1,000 toward the construction of a new Veteran’s Pavilion in Memorial Park in Ladysmith, Wis. The current structure has exceeded its useful life and fallen into disrepair. The Veteran’s Pavilion serves as a tribute to area veterans and is a venue for a variety of community events.

Dairyland’s donation will help meet the Ladysmith Jaycees and Northland Community Club’s fundraising goals for the pavilion, which will be designed as a log structure with upgraded electrical. The plan is to construct the new pavilion on the existing concrete slab and use a metal roof with a standard roofline, making maintenance easier. The timber used will be locally sourced in Rusk County.

“As part of our commitment to being a good neighbor in communities where we do business, Dairyland has been actively involved in supporting environmental and community enhancements in and around the Dairyland Reservoir and our Flambeau Hydro Station,” said Brad Foss, Manager, Environmental Impact. “The pavilion is a meaningful tribute to veterans and we’re happy to see it continue to be a great spot for the community to gather.”
