Jason Herbert
Vice President, External Affairs

What is your job at Dairyland?
I am the Vice President for External Affairs and have held this position for a little over six months. Aside from the wonderful team I am blessed to work with, what I like most about my job is that every day brings a new and unexpected challenge (in other words, it's rarely boring).

What makes Dairyland a great place to work?
Dairyland's culture has been extremely welcoming, and the team is fantastic. Dairyland's mission and vision, as well as delivering on the cooperative promise, are tenets I am excited to advance every day.

What led you to work in this field?
I started my career in politics, which then led to working on public policy, with a focus in the fields of energy and natural resources. I first realized my interest in the fields of government relations, public policy and communications during a college internship on Capitol Hill.

Life outside of work. Tell us about your favorite things.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family (we have two young daughters and an obese cat named Harper). My hobbies are running, reading, hiking, and golfing... and we are all excited to snowshoe and try snowmobiling this winter.

What is the best piece of advice you have been given? (Or favorite quote)

Grandma’s split pea soup.

What food would you not want to live without?
Chocolate.
