The 2020 Peregrine falcon nesting season is a huge success at Dairyland’s Genoa and Alma power plant nesting sites! Four chicks have hatched at each site. Check out their growth and progress on our Bird Cam!

The Peregrine Falcon Restoration Program is Dairyland’s flagship stewardship initiative, dating back to the mid-1990s. The falcon pairs at our Genoa and Alma nesting sites each incubated four eggs this season (a typical clutch for a Peregrine is three to four eggs.) In Alma, a new pair was identified this year. The male is Mackey and the female is unbanded. Returning to the Genoa nesting box are Marcelle (male) and Peta (female). They have been the resident pair in Genoa since 2017.
