Congratulations to Fleet Mechanic III Jonah Rieber for earning the September People Powers award! Jonah was nominated by Fleet Mechanic IV Eric Volden for acting with a Safety First mindset.

In his justification, Eric shared how Jonah identified a potential major safety hazard of slips trips and falls. “Jonah noticed the new service truck bodies have a smooth aluminum finished floor. During weather events this floor will become extremely slippery creating a safety hazard when the bed of this truck is used as an elevated walking surface. Therefore, a fall from the bed of this truck could result in a major injury,” said Eric. He noted that Jonah created a solution and that all new service bodies will have the truck beds lined with a non-slip spray.
