Renewable & CT Technician at the Elk Mound Generating Station
What is your job and what do you like most about it?
Renewable & CT Technician at the Elk Mound Generating Station. I have been at Dairyland for 15 years. I enjoy working together to solve some difficult problems at our small site. Then coming up with ways we can avoid them in the future. We’re always trying to improve the site.
What makes Dairyland a great place to work?
It has to be the people. When our site has been in need, we have multiple resources within Dairyland that have always been willing to help out in a pinch.
What led you to work in this field?
When becoming a football or baseball player didn’t pan out, I had to go after a more realistic goal. A friend from high school’s dad worked for WE Energies and it seemed like a pretty great career for him. So here I am.
Life outside of work. Tell us about your favorite things.
Life outside of work is generally spent with my family. My children are growing up and I love watching them enjoy sports. My son is 10 and loves football, hockey, and baseball. My daughter is 7 and is the hardest working softball, gymnast, and volleyball player I know. I look forward to cheering them on wherever their lives take them.
What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
“Work hard and everything will fall into place.”
What's on your bucket list?
Travel. My wife and I want to hit all 50 states. Then hopefully hit six of the seven continents (probably not Antarctica).
Where do you volunteer?
I’ve volunteered as a coach for many years, coaching baseball, hockey and football for my kids!
