Dairyland supports the annual Transmission Hot Stick School, being hosted this year by East River Electric in Madison, SD. Lineworkers from Dairyland have been safely practicing using a hot stick.

"The training is a great way for our lineworkers to practice and fine tune their hot stick skills," said Dairyland Manager, Transmission Line Shannon Duwe. "Staying sharp on skills is critical for staying safe at work."

This technique is used when working on energized high voltage power lines using Live Line tools (hot sticks). The training helps to educate, keep up existing skillsets and practice critical safety measures.

Safety is Dairyland's highest priority. "The most important thing we do is get employees home safe to loved ones, every day. If we don't do that, nothing else matters," said President and CEO Brent Ridge.
