At Dairyland, we often talk about how our actions are guided by the Cooperative Principles and our Mission to improve quality of life. These creeds aren’t just lip service, they’re values Dairylanders live by, in and out of the workplace. We see it when coworkers spend their down time making PPE for health care workers, coaching youth, building homes for families that need a fresh start, serving on local charitable boards... the list could go on and on.

Recently, Dairyland employees Brad Foss, Leif Tolokken and Mike Weidemann, along with retiree Bill Kelemen, facilitated the donation of $6,000 to local food pantries and charities. The effort was led by the God’s Country Chapter of Muskies, Inc., of which all four are members, with Weidemann currently serving as President and Tolokken as Treasurer.

The group donated $5,000 to the Hunger Task Force, an amount that was matched by Firefighters Credit Union for a total donation of $10,000 for disbursement to local food pantries. The God’s Country Chapter also donated $1,000 to Neuie’s Vogue Bar to support the owner’s charitable actions preparing and donating meals to local children in need.

About Muskies, Inc.: The God’s Country chapter of Muskies, Inc., collaborates with the over 50 other nationwide chapters to promote muskellunge sport fishery. Habitat protection, research and the promotion of fellowship and sportsmanship are all conservation purposes of the God’s Country chapter. The chapter is active in the La Crosse area, volunteering for river and highway clean-ups and helping raise funds for charitable causes. Members are able to take part in scheduled fishing outings and enjoy social gatherings while making the region a better place to live (and fish).
