In support of local education and in honor of retired President and CEO Barb Nick, Dairyland’s Board of Directors approved a $15,000 donation for a scholarship to Viterbo University in La Crosse.

The Barbara Nick & Dairyland Power Cooperative Lifelong Learning Scholarship supports continuing education and professional growth, which have always been of high importance to Nick, who served as a Trustee for Viterbo University. Click here for a La Crosse Tribune article on the scholarship.

“Co-ops like Dairyland and our members know that a good education makes for a bright future,” said Dairyland Chief, Member Relations and HR Officer Amanda Hoefling. “We are pleased to join in Barb’s support of local higher learning with this scholarship opportunity.”

In addition to Dairyland’s donation, CoBank contributed $5,000 through its Sharing Success program. The $20,000 total donation matches Barb and Jay Nick’s personal donation to the scholarship. Both share a passion for education related to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math).
