As a result of an April 1 incident at the Genoa (Wis.) boat landing, the dock’s walkway has been shifted and is no longer completely supported by the concrete footing, leaving the walkway unstable. In addition, the connection between the dock walkway and the dock separated.

Dairyland Power Cooperative personnel performed repairs to the extent possible. The dock is usable, but unstable, with a significant step up to the walkway. It will not be wheelchair accessible until full repair work is performed.

Vernon County Police responded to the incident. Yellow tape and a safety sign are in place to alert dock users to the damage.

Water Works Docks & Lifts were contacted and will be at the boat landing on Monday, April 4, to evaluate the damage so that it can be repaired. They will also perform maintenance on the dock.
